|
I recently took a trip to Cleveland Ohio and had this done. It's called Breast Thermography. It is said that with this procedure they can predict your chances of developing breast cancer. I highly recommend that you take a few minutes to check out the site. Also check out the link to the local newscast on the subject.

BTW. I have a medium risk of developing breast cancer and that's too high for me. I will be having an ultrasound done in the near future to make sure that the lumps are benign and then we will work from there to figure out why the vascular function in that breast is not what it should be. I'll keep you posted. |

| I am not sure the exact cost for the thermography. I got the package which included the thermography and a VERY THOROUGH (LOL) breast exam and also included the follow up appointment. My son was also seen for allergy elimination treatments and the total was $550. |

Because my mother had breast cancer, my sister went and had this done about a month ago. I am still struggling with whether I should. I do my self exams and have my paps on a normal basis. I'm not sure if I want to know if I'm at high risk.
Is have lumps in your breast normal for you? I only ask because my sister has had several benign lumps removed and I have had 1 removed already. _________________ I live in my own little world, but that's ok....EVERYONE KNOWS ME HERE!! |

My left breast has always been fairly lumpy but the blood vessels in the area around the lumps in question are not constricting properly and therefore acting like vessels that have a more significant risk of developing breast cancer.
I definately think you should have it done. They do recommend nutritional support that has been known to help reduce your chances and help the body function properly. The problem that I have is that my husband and I want to have a baby and some of the vitamins I can't take such high doses without risking problems with fetal development. I am 33 and my husband is 42 so we don't want to wait too much longer to have a baby.
I am very sorry to hear about your mother. Given your circumstances I think you need to be very cautious and take every step possible to prevent it from developing.

Good luck on the babies! I have 4 of them and everyday is a joy...no, I really mean it. Another reason that I am thinking against getting the tests done is because my sisters came back not really telling her anything that was useful to her. But I do currently do everything in my power to catch any signs early so for now I hope that is good enough. Good Luck to you! _________________ I live in my own little world, but that's ok....EVERYONE KNOWS ME HERE!! |
